Glide over ancient ruins, paddling through calm Mediterranean bays for an exhilarating day out on the water. With lots of swim breaks, a chance to explore the castle and town of Simena, a tasty lunch, and of course the warm summer sun, this action-packed tour is a wonderful, diverse experience. Try something new or get reacquainted with an old hobby by spending the day atop your kayak.
The tour leaves from in front of the Kas office at 7:30.
After a 45 minute transfer, we’ll arrive at the town of Ucagiz where our kayaking adventure begins.
As your guiding team begins to prepare the equipment, you’ll get an instructional briefing and some time to get comfortable on your kayaks.
Once everyone, first-timers alike, has built up their confidence, we’ll set out towards Kekova Island.
After our first paddling of the day, a quick swim break will feel quite refreshing.
Continuing on, we’ll paddle over the 2000 year old ruins of the ancient Lycian sunken city.
You’ll get completely immersed in the history from atop your kayak, the perfect way to explore the area.
After lots of interesting explanations from your knowledgeable guide, you’ll head over to Tersane Bay, the ancient shipbuilding yard where we’ll take a refreshing swim.
Then it’s on to Simena and Kalekoy where we’ll savor a well-deserved lunch.
The modern day village of Kalekoy is built atop and among the ruins of the ancient city of Simena.
You’ll have the chance to explore these ruins, walking up to the top of the castle and through the stone tombs of the necropolis before we return to Ucagiz.
A final visit to some classic Lycian sarcophagi and a return to our kayak base rounds out our great day x on the water.
All that’s left is your transfer back to Kas and some reveling in the beauty of the day.
